Ceresstraat

Breda. This design is based on the masterplan ‘Drie Hoefijzers’ by Diederendirrix but tries to escape from the obvious ‘box’ shapes for commercial office structures without compromising its flexibility nor its ease of building. The scheme is based on several vertical floating planes filtering the sun and sound exposure which is dominating the long and stretched site. These floating vertical planes show great architectural expression referring to brick artists of the beginning of last century as a salute to the adjacent highly ornamented former headquarters of Interbrew. The design makes the orchestrated approach spectacular and reflects the grandeur and spaciousness of this town location. The several planes extending the roofs allow for different signage of the tenants and mask the obvious technical facilities on the roof.
