Amsterdam. In collaboration with YIELD Plus RE architects worked out the demand to add an auditorium of 200 seats to the existing building. To give the building a new appeal we chose to combine the auditorium with a new canopy over the entrance of the building. The simple lining of the canopy refers to one of the most well known works of the architect of the building, the Marnixgarage of architect Piet Zandstra. The form is chosen in such a way that it avoids taking away daylight from the office floors and is usable by all tenants because of its accessibility from the elevator lobby at the second floor. The scale size of the cantilever is not only enhancing the strength of the identity of the building but is also adding grandeur to the building, which it lacks up to now.
